Second Day of Spring

Spring is in the air, kind of. It is finally not arctic although apparently Tuesday it is supposed to be low 30s and snow. SOOOO I'm enjoying this weather while I can. Yesterday we had frisbee practice outside and it felt amazing. I'm ready to get some color, I feel so pale. I planted my rosemary yesterday and I am going to try and plant my lettuce today! I also got super pumped about finally painting the planter that Evan made me. Today I am baking some vegan chocolate chip cookies with my good friends Haylee and Kristen, then Gillies for dinner, and finishing the night off with IV Large Group. Tomorrow I'm going to the farmers market with Katy Bug-A-hug, then going with her to the optometrist to help her pick out new eye glasses.

Family Time

In my last post, I posted pictures of paintball. My first weekend home was a blast! Friday night when I got in, sweet Granga-lang took Nate, Meg, and I out to dinner. We went to Atlas diner and I legit have not been in years. Throwback dinner, so fun. Saturday we had a super relaxing morning. I went all out, slept in till 7:15 haha. It was kind of nice though cause I got to skype my good friend Rachel, who is in Seville, Spain! So great to catch up with her. In the afternoon, we went paint balling which was hilarious. Meg and Kate (one of her best friends) show up in running tights, bright pink tennis shoes, and eyeliner as "war paint." Nate and I looked semi-legit but not even. We end up playing with like 12 18 year old boys who clearly do this every weekend. They thought we were ridiculous, but they were so nice. It was a great time! Later we headed to the gym, then showered, and went to Mexican for dinner. We crushed some chips and salsa. We ended the night with ice cream and a movie: Dallas Buyers Club.
Sunday we went to Trinity for church. Randy preached on the Kingdom of God. The sermon was great- I payed attention the whole time, which is really hard for me. I just really enjoyed the church service. It was nice getting to see old friends and teachers too. Sunday afternoon all four kids and dad played frisbee and football, it was such a good time. Then dad, meg, and I went to the dock and just sat near the water and talked for a while. Then we hung out and chilled for the rest of the night- we were wiped.
Mexican with Kate and Meg. Margs for the of age gals! Which will be me in less than a month!

Had to take a break from frisbee for a sibling pic:)

A weekend in the Burg- finally!!!!

So I LOVE being on the frisbee team, but it does mean that we spend many weekends traveling and playing at tournaments and therefore not many chill weekends at home. This past weekend I had a bunch of homework to do so I decided to not go to the frisbee clinic in Maryland and stay in the burg. It was wonderful and really good for my mental and physical health haha. I was actually a bit sick, so I need that time to rest lots and power out on homework I was behind in. Saturday, Jamie (my small group co-leader and dear friend) and I had a date with the library. She was doing her pratice MCAT- a five hour exam... casual... pre-med students... whatcha gonna do. So we got to the library at 9am on Saturday- true nerd status. I powered out on my paper though which was great! Left at 1pm and ran home (and booked my flight to Italy on the phone! It's official! Eek!). Then at 2:30 I went to the Tech vs. UNC basketball game to see James play! I got to see him after the game and chat for a quick second. It was so great! So proud of him and definitely miss that kid.
Then Saturday night I got to hang out with Charlotte and make dinner and dessert:) Sunday was church, brunch at Gillies- sooo nom!!!!!!!! And homework all afternoon. Overall, a very good weekend!
